ASTHA SHAKTI NGO

It was Established by Ms T.G.Aruna a Social Worker in 2009. Astha Shakti in Bangalore is a Social Organisation with the core objective to serve the Underprivileged, the Economically Deprived through NUTRI - ED Program there by providing opportunity for Education, Skill Development, Economic Rehabilitation and Social Integration.

Astha Shakti today has been associated with many service centers viz; School, Colleges, NGOs and Slums Who have offices at Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Anantpur.

PROGRAMS

NUTRI - ED Program

Survey conducted and Children are identified as per the following guidelines

• Below Poverty Line
  
• Who are not going to school
• Street children
• Photographs, Address and Details about their Family is collected
• They are provided with Nutritive Food at least once a day
• After 3 or 4 months, children are encouraged to go to school
• This time is taken to discuss with Lions Club / Rotary Club / Round Table and so on
• Once the school is identified and children start going there, we teach them hygiene, discipline practices
• Children learn and go back to their family & share with them hygiene practices what is learnt here

IMPACT OF NUTRI - ED Program

• The School Management is very satisfied to get full attendance in the school; dropout rates have reduced.
• Teachers are of the opinion regular Nutritive Food have tremendous improvement in the concentration level in the class.
• The parents are always in the guilt of not providing good nourishment for their children; most of the children come empty stomach to schools; with this Nutritive Food progam parents are so much relieved of the guilt and do not want the children to miss the school even on a single day.
• The child labor has been checked proportionately.
• Everyone is of the opinion that Nutritive Food is the need of the hour.
