India Buddhist TourDestinations Covered: Delhi - Lucknow - Sravasti - Lumbini - Kushinagar - Varanasi - Bodhgaya – Patna - Delhi
Duration: 6 Nights/ 7 Days

Day 1: Arrival at Delhi
On your arrival at Delhi, you would be given warm reception by our representatives who would receive you at the airport and escort you till the hotel for check in. After relaxing at the hotel, you may go out to explore the city, by visiting India Gate and doing some shopping in Chandni chowk. You will then retire back to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Delhi- Lucknow- Sravasti
You will check out of the hotel after having a relishing breakfast, to move towards Lucknow by air or by train. After arrival at Lucknow, you would be driven to Sravasti, the ancient capital of Kosala Mahajanapada, which is 170 km away from Lucknow. Popularly known as Sahet-Mahet, Sravasti is famous for the supernatural feats shown by Lord Buddha seated on a lotus. Your overnight stay will be in a hotel in Sravasti.

Day 3: Sravasti- Lumbini
After savoring a tasty breakfast, you will check out of the hotel, from where you will be taken to, Jetvana Vihar and Buddhist temples for sightseeing. After sightseeing, you would be driven to Lumbini (Nepal, 225 km from Sravasti) where you would be escorted to a hotel for an overnight stay. One of the UNESCO world heritage spots, Lumbini is the birthplace of Gautam Buddha (the founder of Buddhism).

Day 4: Lumbini- Kushinagar 
After having breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and from there, you will be driven for sightseeing tour, covering Maya Devi temple, Ashokan Pillar, Buddhist temples, Pushkarni (the sacred pool), sanctum sanctorum of Buddha's birthplace and Stupas. After sightseeing at Lumbini, you will head towards Kushinagar (161km from Lumbini) - yet another sacred Buddhist place. At Kushinagar, the place of Buddha's Mahaparinirvana (the final bowing out), you would be accompanied by our representatives to a hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Kushinagar- Varanasi
Early in the morning, you will be taken to Mahaparinirvana temple and the Ramabhar Stupa (the cremation place of Lord Buddha) in Kushinagar. After the visit, you would resort back to the hotel for a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and get ready for a drive to Varanasi, 260 km away from Kushinagar. You would be transferred to a hotel for an overnight stay iINDIAn Varanasi.

Day 6: Varanasi- Bodhgaya
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will check out of the hotel, from where you will be taken for a sightseeing tour to Ganga Ghats for a boat ride, to see bathing and cremation rituals on the Ganges. From the Ganges, you will be taken to the Bharat Mata temple, the Banaras Hindu University, Vishwanath temple etc. Passing through Sarnath (where Lord Buddha gave his first Sermon), you will reach Bodhgaya, 242 km away from Varanasi. The Buddhist temple, Stupas, Archaeological museum and ancient ruins are among the central attractions of Sarnath. On arrival at Bodhgaya (where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the sacred Bodhi Tree), you would be accompanied by our representatives to a hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Bodhgaya- Patna
After having breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and move towards Mahabodhi temple and other monuments and edifices associated with Buddhism. From Bodhgaya, you will reach Patna through Rajgir and Nalanda.

The tourist attractions at Rajgir would cover Gridhakuta Hill, Bimbisara Jail and other Jain and Buddha monuments. Rajgir holds special tourist significance for the Buddhist and the Jains, as Lord Buddha spent 12 years of his life here and the first Budhist council was also held here. From Rajgir, you will be driven to Nalanda, which is 14 km away from Rajgir.

You would visit the ruins of the Nalanda University, temples and Stupas at Nalanda, which was a great center of learning in ancient times and one of the greatest monastic Universities. You would head for Patna, which is 90 km away from Nalanda. On your arrival at Patna, you would be deported to the railway station or airport to take a train or a flight for Delhi.

Day 8: Delhi
On arrival at Delhi, you will be transported to the international airport/railway station for further destination.
