Kuntala
waterfall is waterfall located in
Kuntala ,Adilabad district Telegana. Its located on kadem river in Naedigonda
Mandal. Its the highest waterfall in the state of Telangana with a height of
147 feet (45meters). These waterfalls are in dense forests inhabited by the
Gonds. Kunta in Gondi and Telugu lanuguage means pond. Kuntalu means several
ponds . The waterfalls originates from
a confluence of several ponds that lead to the river. Formed by the kadam river
,Kuntala falls cascades down through two steps and can be seen as two separate
adjacent waterfalls after the peak rains. Its one of the famous outings from
Hyderabad. There is a motorable road until the entry point of the falls from
where steps are available to reach the bottom of the falls. The falls is about
10 minutes walk from the entry point
Transportation
Public transport is available until Neredikonda,
from where private vehicles can be hired . Nirmal and Adilabad are base
stations. Other waterfalls in the are include Gayatri Waterfalls and Pochera
Falls. The nearest airport is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad. The nearest railway station is Adillabad
railway station .
